Making Towing Safer
The Towing System
  1. A towbar or hitch receiver with suitable load ratings to suit the caravan or trailer you will be towing. Whether you choose a standard towbar with the normal bolt on tongue or the now famous Hayman Reese receiver (square hole towbar) you can have confidence that they are engineered and tested to meet your vehicle's towing capacity.
  2. The appropriate weight distributing hitch or mini hitch for your ball weight.
  3. Options for the system include the Dual Cam Sway control ball for weights in excess of 1600kg.
    OR
The Friction Sway control suitable for caravans and trailers of any weight.
Hayman Reese Weight Distributing Hitches

Hayman Reese Weight Distributing Hitches are available in, 550 (250kg), 750 (340kg) and 1,000(455kg) capacity ball load weights.

Towing a caravan, boat, horse float of heavy trailer can apply a heavy additional weight on the rear of your vehicle which is referred to as the ball weight. The weight will be carried by the rear wheels which will raise the front of the vehicle, thereby reducing the weight on the front wheels. As a result the vehicle will experience a reduction in steering and braking control.

The Weight Distributing Hitch is designed to ensure a return to even distribution of weight across all wheels of the tow vehicle and trailer. This even distribution of weight ensures that positive steering and braking control is maintained.
